Palestinian women entering the political arena for the first time, organizing their first 1929 congress and establishing a 14 women Executive Committee. The Committee is primarily from notable Jerusalem families such as the Husseinis, Alamis, Nashashibis, Khouris, and Budeiris.
The photo shows the visit of the delegation to the High Commissioner for Palestine, Sir John Chancellor and his wife at the Government House in Oct. 1929.
