Arab Jerusalem Rehabilitation Program

Map Sheets

The initial results of PASSIA's Arab Jerusalem Rehabilitation Project have been printed on two map sheets as presented below. The aim was to stimulate, facilitate and assist the communities of Arab Jerusalem to take a greater participatory role in reviewing drafting and inmplementing plans for urban development.

The map set 'Pinpointing Palestinian Planning Imperatives for Arab Jerusalem' offers a concrete plan on how a just solution can be achieved for what is generally considered the Arab-Israeli conflict's crucial core: the issue of Jerusalem. The map sheets present various levels from which to contextualize the planning of Jerusalem's future.

Map Sheet 1 introduces an overall framework to examine the issue of development planning for Jerusalem.

Map Sheet 2 illustrates how the principle of equitable development planning can be applied to a crucially city section of Arab East Jerusalem, here focussing on a prospective alternative planning scheme for the neighborhood of Anata, compiled in cooperation with local citizens.

Both full-color map sheets are 70 x 100 cm in size and can be ordered via PASSIA.
