  The complexities of the current situation.

SUMMARY:

This one day symposium was an opportunity for frank open dialogue about the current situation. Speakers were Dr. Mahdi Abdul Hadi and Dr. Hanan Ashrawi who each gave a presentation followed by in depth discussion and comment from the participants. Issues addressed included a review of the Declaration of Principles and its limitations from a Palestinian point of view and the major obstacles to the continuing peace process on both the Israeli and Palestinian sides.
