Arafat becomes the first foreign leader to visit the Iranian capital after the revolution. At a Tehran press conference a euphoric Arafat proclaimes, “I told His Eminence Ayatollah Khomeini that I really saw the walls of Jerusalem when I heard about the Iranian revolution”.
